    Hi Scott,

    Your posts here are really helpful. Thnks a lot for that!!!

    I have a question, following are the details:
    I added a transaction in MMS200MI called GetCount(). I want to run a select query in MAK and give the record back (or count back). But the connection to db will be dynamic. I am trying to retrive url / user /pwd from LDAZZ/LDAZD etc. URL also will be dynamic, as my company has different environments and so different servers.

    Do you know if I can retrieve it from somewhere? I am trying something like below (its just copy paste from different places, not working 😦 )

    //Connection====================================================================
    // trying to use code from one of ur posts, haven’t tested yet

    String jdbcClassName = “com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver”;
    String url = “??not sure??”;
    String user = “LDAZZ or ZD.USR”;
    String password = “???not sure??”;
    Connection connection = null;
    try { // Load class into memory
    Class.forName(jdbcClassName);
    // Establish connection
    connection = DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, password);
    } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } finally {
    if (connection != null) {
    System.out.println(“Connected successfully.”);
    try {
    connection.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    }
    }
    }

    //====================================================================
    //SQL
    String W2TempString = “Select * from M3JDTP800.MITMAS”;
    int W2TempCount;
    Statement W0TempStatement = null;
    ResultSet rs = null;

    try {
    rs = W0TempStatement.executeQuery(W2TempString); //===> throws error here
    while (rs.next()) {

    String column1 = rs.getString(“MMCONO”);

    String column2 = rs.getString(“MMITNO”);

    }

    } catch (SQLException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    MSGID.move(“SQL query wrong”); // Mandatory fields are missing
    IN60 = true;
    return;
    }
    //=====================================================================
    Can you help me with it? or point me to any article/post which already has info about it?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hi Veena,

      sorry but I’ve never have the opportunity to use MAK – it’s always been password protected.

      Perhaps investigating the GenericMDB, MvxRecord classes may provide some clues – they are referenced in the M3BE source code.

      FWIW the username/password/jdbc url are all stored in the grid configuration for the M3BE (used to be movex.properties I believe) – I would be surprised if they are easily accessible.

      Sorry I can’t be of more help – perhaps someone else can shed some more light.

      Cheers,
      Scott

    Thanks for the reply Scott !!!
    Yup, I can see MOVEX.properties have all the values, but trying to figure out how to access it.

    Thanks again,
    Veena

  3. Hello Scott,

    I have a problem. I need to call a MWS webservice from a Jscript. To be able to call this webservice I need the credentials of the user who is logged in. Is this possible?

    Kind regards

    Lode Vlaeminck
